As a third-generation Pakistani woman navigating the diverse city of Toronto, I learned early what it means to get a seat at the table yet be unseen. In classrooms, I rarely encountered stories, perspectives, or histories that reflected my own. Beyond the classroom, I often watched people who looked like me struggle with challenges that others never had to consider, from navigating cultural expectations to facing barriers in education, employment and mental health support. There are always moments of being caught between worlds, which serve as a reminder of the richness and complexity of identity.
My passion lies in helping others who are caught between worlds, who are tired of adapting, of shrinking themselves to fit into systems that are not built for them. These challenges are deeply rooted and ongoing, which is what motivates me to work in a space where others feel seen, understood and empowered to embrace their whole selves. I believe healing isn’t just about coping, it’s about reclaiming our voices, honouring our truths and recognizing that our pain isn’t our weakness.
In my spare time, I love spending time outdoors, hiking, biking, travelling and being with family and friends. I am grateful to be surrounded by love and support, which reinforces my belief in the power of community, connection and shared growth, which continues to guide and inspire the work I want to achieve.
