Welcome! I am Shoria, a registered psychotherapist in Ontario. As a BIPOC therapist working with Asian, South Asian, Arab, Persian, and BIPOC women and adults, I recognize the unique journey you are on.
Balancing your heritage and the culture you were raised in and your western identity, can bring about complex emotions and challenges. From difficulties expressing feelings to grappling with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, you are not alone in your struggles. Feeling invalidated and unsure of your own value may be a result of conforming to societal expectations and internalizing the voices of your parents. During your therapeutic journey, you have the opportunity to explore, heal, and redefine your narrative. Together, we will navigate the depths of your emotions, uncovering the layers of self-doubt and self-invalidation that have held you back. You have reached a turning point, and I'm here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
A bit about myself: My favorite show is Sherlock Holmes (BBC version with Benedict). I have recently found that I really enjoy cooking and baking.
"Shoria is always attentive, making a point to listen and then offer insights. I really value her commitment to my development/healing."
"Shoria always sends through additional material for me to read/reflect on, which allows me to find other ways to approach/resolve situations that are impacting my day to day life/relationships (consciously and unconsciously)."
"Shoria is very helpful and supportive. I always enjoy my sessions with her because I learn something new every time."
