Welcome, my name is Rahela and I am a care coordinator at Inner Voice Therapy. I will be your first point of contact.
A little about me is that as someone who immigrated to Canada at the age of ten, I've personally navigated the complexities of balancing dual identities and striving to remain authentic to both. Though this path hasn't been without its hurdles, I've learned that staying true to myself and embracing patience is key to finding harmony. Drawing from my diverse experiences, I aim to foster empathy and positivity, shaping a future filled with promise. Growing up in Canada, I was fortunate to be surrounded by abundant opportunities, sparking a genuine drive to wholeheartedly pursue my love for science, with a specific focus on Biology. I am currently completing BSc Honours in Biology at York University.

In the grander scheme, I aspire to contribute to healthcare, extending support and assistance to those in need. Being from Afghanistan, where education is recognized as a rare privilege, I am acutely aware of its value. Moreover, I am genuinely thankful that I am blessed to have access to this privilege and am determined to make the most of it.

Furthermore, as a first-generation Canadian, I've firsthand witnessed the persistent oversight of mental health within my community. This is why I am genuinely thrilled to be part of an organization dedicated de-stigmatizing mental health within the BIPOC communities.

A bit about myself:

To relax, I love to cook, experiment with new recipes accompanied by my favourite music. Additionally, I am an avid book enthusiast who immerses herself in pages for hours. Beyond that, I cherish moments spent with loved ones, valuing quality time with family and friends.
