Growing up in a South Asian immigrant family has shaped the way I understand identity, culture, family, and belonging. I recognize how complicated it can feel to navigate different expectations between home, family, culture, and Western society.
Welcome, I’m Inderpreet, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ontario.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult transition, questioning parts of your identity, or simply feeling like something in your life needs to change, therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and better understand yourself.
My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are. You do not need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Together, we can explore what has been weighing on you, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, and work toward changes that feel meaningful and realistic for your life. Mental health can also be difficult to talk about in communities where emotional struggles are sometimes minimized, misunderstood, or kept private. I aim to provide a space where these conversations can happen openly and without judgment.
I believe that our culture and experiences are meaningful parts of who we are, but they do not have to define every part of our story. Therapy can be an opportunity to understand the messages and expectations you have carried with you, decide what still feels true to you, and begin creating a life that feels more authentic to who you are becoming.
While cultural and intercultural identity is an important part of my work, my practice is open to individuals from all backgrounds. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem and self-worth, relationships, grief, life transitions, stress, OCD, communication challenges, and personal growth.
Therapy does not have to be about becoming a completely different version of yourself. Sometimes, it is about understanding yourself more deeply, reconnecting with the parts of yourself that have been pushed aside, and feeling more confident in the person you already are.
I would be honoured to walk alongside you as you begin that process.
