Welcome! My name is Gurleen (she/her) and I am a Registered Social Worker. I strongly believe that we are all experts of our own lives. Nonetheless, this is a safe space to seek support and guidance in recognizing and using your strengths.
As a culturally sensitive mental health therapist, I specialize in working with children, youth, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. My approach is welcoming, empathetic, and flexible, creating an environment where clients feel truly heard and understood. I am an active listener, attuned to each individual’s needs while balancing a collaborative and challenging approach to foster growth. My sessions are non-judgmental and inclusive, infused with warmth, humour, and a comforting presence.
As a South Asian woman, I deeply understand the complexities of navigating cultural barriers and the duality of cultures, especially within immigrant and first-generation experiences. I recognize the unspoken struggles that can come with family expectations, identity conflicts, and societal pressures.
My goal is to help minimize the stigma surrounding mental health while working with clients to explore their emotions, overcome challenges, and embrace their authentic selves—without fear of judgment. No matter where you are at, I’m here to support you. Taking the first step toward therapy might feel a little scary, but hey, look at you—already being brave! If you’re ready to dive in, I’d love to be part of the journey. Your future self will probably send you a thank-you card.
A bit about me:
Outside of my work as a therapist and mental health advocate, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, staying active (whether outdoors, at the gym, snowboarding, golfing, etc.), and seeking new experiences. Whether trying new foods or travelling, these opportunities allow me
to immerse myself in diverse cultures.
