Welcome! I am Aqsa, a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) in Ontario.  Do you replay conversations long after they end, wondering if you said too much or not enough? Do you carry everyone else’s emotions like it’s your responsibility, yet feel unseen when it’s your turn to need support?
Perhaps you are the peacemaker, the “strong one,” the person others lean on, while quietly asking yourself, “Why does it always fall on me?” Perhaps you are also holding grief: the loss of a relationship, a friendship, a pet, or someone you loved deeply.

I work with individuals and couples from diverse racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds who are navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, and identity-related stress. As a South Asian therapist, I hold a deep awareness of how culture, family systems, and unspoken expectations shape emotional experiences. Together, we focus on regulating overwhelm, understanding attachment patterns, building clarity, and developing healthier boundaries, so life feels more manageable and more your own.

My approach is trauma-informed and evidence-based. I integrate IFS, ACT, DBT-informed skills, EFT, the Gottman Method for couples, and trauma-focused CBT. I use humour, visuals, metaphors, and practical tools to make therapy feel grounded, collaborative, and accessible while still honouring the depth of your pain and lived experiences. The goal is not just insight, but agency, emotional resilience, and lasting change.

If you feel stuck between overthinking, over-giving, and holding yourself together in silence, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Book a free 15-minute phone consultation today.

A bit about myself:
I know personally how vulnerable it can feel to start therapy. I have been in therapy myself, both individually and in couples, and understand the uncertainty of not knowing what to expect, as well as the stigma that can come with seeking help. That lived experience shapes how I work: with transparency, compassion, and respect for the courage it takes to show up.

Outside the therapy room, I am a devoted pet parent and enjoy unwinding with psychological thrillers and light-hearted comedies on Netflix. These moments of balance and connection reflect the same values I bring into my work: care, curiosity, and humanity.
